Liar, Liar.

Like a lot of people out there i have a lot of questions, some simple and some more complex.  This one can be seen as both, it might insignificant to some of you, and others of you might have asked the same exact question.  So here it goes…

Why do people lie? I know some people lie to benefit themselves, or others do it to protect themselves, but what about those lies that both hurt that person and doesn’t benefit themselves? Why do that?

My most recent experience with a lie is related to a guy i was interested in.  All you dudes and chicks might have experienced something like this before but here is the story.  I was dealing with this guy who would tell me he was a good adventist boys, call me crazy but thats the kind of guy I want since I have dealt with those who are not and it just doesn’t work.  But he definitely contradicted himself because he would say one thing and then make those sleazy little comments and innuendoes.  Well things basically ended because while he was talking to me and treating me like we were dating, he started dating another girl.  Oh well, probably better for me I was thinking at that point.  Now we speak again, he claims he has a girlfriend, yet the comments are back to where they were and he wants us to hang out one on one.

I know this may sounds drama filled but it really isn’t.  There has been no conflicts or fights between us and I think of him as a good person.  But does anyone else see the lies in there? All I want tot know at this point is why?

why is it that we always want the things that we can’t have, or should I say don’t have? And if by chance we happened to obtain such things, would our desire to have them be gone?

The little things..

I’ve learned that it really is the little things that count, I might be a little late in life for figuring that out ( or not, I’m only 20 :] ), but at least I figured it out sooner or later, right?  A text message, call, or email from someone you don’t hear from often, a hug from a friend, a smile from a stranger, someone asking how your doing, these are all things I take for granted often.  I find it strange how the things that can be most insignificant to us can be the one very thing that can turn a bad day to a great one.

I don’t know about everyone else, but its not only the little things people do that can make a day a little brighter, but nature.  Even on a day like this (its been pouring all day, and mud slides everywhere) I can look outside and find something that just makes me smile.  All the leaves falling from the tree, a group of strangers helping their neighbor free their car from the mud, a dog running out their house to play in the rain. I see all of these things as positive things.  But how is it that these positive things to be can be seen as negatives?  Is it just perspective, or is it attitude?

Tomorrow, try and take every negative thing you see and find a positive, I know it sounds lame but just do and you will see a major difference in your attitude and how well your day might go.
